We are seeking a Irrigation Tech 1 to join our team at our Glen Flora location in Glen Flora, Texas. SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE The Irrigation Tech I position is a horticulture nursery laborer who assists the Irrigation team in fixing irrigation spitters and leaks using a variety of methods. The main focus of this position is clearing clogged irrigation lines, so the candidate must be able to walk and bend over all throughout the day. The Candidate will posses the ability to work well with others. Be able to work for extended periods of time in variable weather conditions (hot, cold, windy, rainy, etc.) The candidate must be able to work while wearing chaps and safety glasses under all weather conditions. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * - Support the Irrigation Team by performing routine clearing of spitters and hose repair. - Utilize different types of solutions for observed leaks - Handle walking and working daily and while being safe and surefooted - Comply with all safety rules and wear all PPE required for the task(s) at hand - Perform other duties as assigned by the Irrigation Lead SKILLS/EXPERIENCE - High School diploma or GED preferred, bot not required depending on experience with herbicides (mixing, loading, and spraying) - Teamwork compatible - Personal effectiveness/credibility - Effective communication - Knowledge of ‘Worker Protection Standards’ and ‘Employee Right to Know’ requirements (Hazardous Communication Program) - Flexible work schedule.
