Standardbred Racehorse Groom/Care-Taker mornings (marengo) Racing stable needs caretaker. We are looking to hire someone for part time work. We train standardbred (harness) race horses and need a groom/caretaker. The training farm is just south of Marengo on Rt. 23. Any applicants need to have some horse experience. We will teach our way of doing things and tacking and care of standardbreds - you will need to have experience being around horses, walking them, brushing & grooming, leg and foot care. The rest can be learned, and we enjoy sharing what we know. One more thing, horses don't have "off" switches. So you must be reliable with reliable transportation. There is no leeway for unreliability. This is a good opportunity for someone that loves animals, wants to learn something new, be outside and needs a bit income.
