Independent Green Technologies (IGT) is a Tallahassee based residential and commercial solar installer founded in 2012. IGT is hiring now for a full-time solar Installation technician whose responsibilities may include but are not limited to: assembly, installation or maintenance of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems according to site assessment and schematics. This will include measuring, cutting, assembling, and bolting structural framing and solar panels. The employee may perform minor electrical work such as voltage measurements and calculations. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to assembly of solar modules/array and mounting hardware, mechanical/structural mounting of racking, modules and electrical equipment, electrical wiring of solar array/system (AC and DC), attend training sessions on new products, installation methodology, and safety. Requirements: Strong verbal communication skills, good mechanical skill set such as; working with hands, tools, climbing, good sense of balance, bending, kneeling, etc. Reliable, hardworking, arrives to work on time. Attend weekly team meetings and mandatory training sessions on new products, installation methodology and safety. Ability to work in extreme environments (example: hot sun, cold, crawl spaces, etc.). Regularly lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. Provide an exceptional customer experience to all customers throughout the process Basic understanding/experience with electrical wiring of AC and DC systems preferred. Heavy Machinery operation preferred. Solar experience preferred but not required. Any roofing experience preferred but not required. Independent Green Technologies is an alcohol and drug free work place.
