Aquacultural Research Corporation (A.R.C.), a leading Shellfish Hatchery, Farm and Wholesale business is seeking a Nightwatch Systems Monitor. This is a permanent, part-time position for the 2nd and 3rd shift: Saturday and Sunday (midnight to 8 am) and Monday (4 pm to midnight). The successful candidate will be given opportunities for extra shifts, if desired. Position Overview ARC’s Nightwatch Systems Monitor conducts hourly rounds to monitor temperatures, water flow, and air systems for the Hatchery, Nursery, and Wholesale Operations. This person should be a reliable, responsible, and able bodied person (ability to climb stairs, bend down to open a valve, and carry up to 20 pounds). All procedures will be taught; previous experience is not necessary. The Nightwatch Systems Monitor reports directly to the Hatchery Manager, is a team player, and has excellent observational and communication skills. Responsibilities and Duties • Conduct hourly rounds to verify that all operations are functioning properly: check and record temperatures, seawater is flowing properly, etc. • Log data hourly • Alert the Hatchery Manager and General Manager of system malfunctions • Assist with light repairs and adjustments (procedures will be taught) • Perform other duties as directed, including but not limited to: 1. Changing filters 2. Cleaning pump baskets 3. Monitoring the backup generator when operating (only during power outages) Qualifications and Skills - Minimum of a High School Diploma, preferred but not required - Ability to work independently -Comfortable climbing stairs, bend down, carry 20 pounds - A current driver’s license and reliable transportation - Some mechanical aptitude (procedures will be taught) - Excellent verbal and written communications - Ability to follow written and verbal instructions - Team oriented and reliable Contact: Email: [email protected] Phone: (508) 385-3933 x1
