Performs distribution center shipping/receiving functions by moving product accurately and safely throughout the Warehouse Distribution Center. Hazardous Waste Handlers are trained to identify products that contain chemicals (flammables, aerosols, oxidizers, etc.) that could be harmful to people and/or the environment. They respond to damages and/or spills to properly contain and dispose of the waste.Moves product and pallets utilizing pallet jack and stand-up fork-lift.Coordinates with sanitation associates on spills and place in proper containers.Disposes of hazardous chemicals in the designated areas or containers for proper disposal.Monitors associates in the warehouse ensuring proper disposal of hazardous materials.Performs duties safely and efficiently while working in a fast-paced environment. Ensures that operations are aligned and performed to achieve production and safety goals.Moderate twisting and turning of the body are necessary in maneuvering the pallet jack and in observing safe paths of travel.This position is designated as safety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required.Equipment and Hazardous Waste Awareness training is provided.QualificationsPrior experience in a warehouse or distribution setting or knowledge of logistics is preferred but not required. Experience operating powered warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts a plus.Good communication skillsAbility to work in a team environment.Attention to detail.Working conditionsWarehouse environment with extreme heat and cold temperatures.Physical requirementsAbility to lift, walk, bend, twist, reach, push and squat most of the workday.Handle cases weighing from 25 to 95 pounds and can expect to handle between 50 and 200+ pallets on any given day.
