Complimentary guided tour of the Joshua L. Chamberlain Museum, owned and operated by Pejepscot History Center
In honor of the General's birthday and the Inaugural Chamberlain Legacy Lecture, we are offering complimentary tours of Chamberlain's House on Friday 9/10 and Saturday 9/11!
Take a guided tour through the life and times of Maine's most famous Civil War hero, four-term Maine Governor, and Bowdoin College professor, Joshua L. Chamberlain. Seasoned docents take groups through the museum's nine historic rooms, most restored to Chamberlain's time. The tours covers his full biography and experiences; his talented wife, Fanny, and their children; the house's unusual and diverse architecture; and the Chamberlain legacy. Chamberlain's Gettysburg boots, his original Medal of Honor, his horse's saddle, his governor's desk and chair, and much more are on display. The museum shop sells a wide array of books, gifts, memorabilia, postcards, and more.
PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO HIGH DEMAND THESE TICKETS ARE NON-TRANSFERRABLE. If you cannot attend at your scheduled time, please contact us and we will reschedule your tour if possible: (207) 729-6606 or [email protected].
