8/30 Lost cat has cancer

11yo Black neutered male. Has white hairs in coat and white bikini. Yellow eyes. Name is Ninja. Diag w/oral cancer 8/20/21. Found out 8/27 incurable (vet checked with Mizzou). Has swollen right muzzle/lip. Due for steroid shot 8/30. Urgently want to find as he doesn't have long. He doesn't look friendly but he's a "companion" cat that follows his people around. He doesn't have long. Think he knew it and took off. He was a community cat that showed up injured 7yrs ago. Nursed him back to health. He stayed so I took responsibility for him...and found out he had FIV. No health issues before this. Never aggressive to my other kitties. He's the only in-out one, smart enough to open pet doors that only open in. I call him "My Sweetness" except when he herds me up the drive (meets me halfway) like I'm his kitten after I take trash to street. We live on 6ac and he mostly sleeps on deck or patio, patrols at night. Visits neighbor kids sometimes. They know he's sick and have also looked for him. Pretty sure he took himself away to die, as cats do. Maybe he knew it was his last day of freedom and decided to go out the way he preferred, but we're really heartbroken.
