Description
We need installation assistants in greater Baltimore to help our technicians lift, carry, install, and service 150 pound interactive displays.
The work sites are typically schools. Your role is to the help the installation specialists by getting the equipment from the in-school storage location to the classroom where it will be installed, and then assist them in the installation process from start to finish (e.g. assembling stands onto which the displays are mounted, drilling anchor holes into walls for mounting brackets, installing software updates, extending HDMI and USB cabling, separating and disposing of refuse, being courteous, super punctual, and detail oriented).
A clean driving record is required, and because the sites are public schools, you must submit to background checks. Much of our work is performed after students have been dismissed and when classes are not in session; it is common to work from 4 PM to 11 PM during the school year, and 9 AM to 5 PM during seasonal breaks.
You can anticipate 40-120 hours of work per month, depending upon the season. Starting pay is $17 per hour. Opportunities for increases to $19 and $21 per hour occur at 90- and 180-day milestones. Pathway for advancement to full-time installation specialist positions and beyond also exist, especially for those with BICSI and AVIXA certification.
This role requires punctuality, attention to detail, dexterity, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and lifting more than 70 pounds, approximately once an hour. The dress code includes work gloves, eye protection, safety-toe shoes, tidy jeans or khakis, and polo-style collared shirts.
We welcome your inquiries and questions. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, national origin, gender, age, religion, disability, veteran status, or any other category protected by law.
