Description

Tour Manhattan's oldest surviving house by candlelight while hearing stories of the Mansion's hauntings... Come to the museum after-dark for a unique exterior tour of the house by candlelight! Each guest will receive a candle (don’t worry, it’s a fake candle) to guide them through the house while learning about its history, and hearing spooky stories of the spirits who may still inhabit the house. Participants will also get to go inside Manhattan’s Oldest Surviving House for an interior tour, including exclusive access to the third floor attic with original flooring. The tour lasts 75 minutes. This event is strictly for those 14 and over; individuals under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing. This event is limited to 20 participants. All participants must be vaccinated, according to NYC health and safety regulations. Please note: This tour does not include use of equipment. Looking for a more in-depth experience? Check out our full investigations with hands-on equipment and hunt some historic ghosts, or call us to book a Private Paranormal Investigation! The Morris -Jumel Mansion is a historic house museum that seeks to preserve and interpret Manhattan’s oldest residence, one that has witnessed the evolution of northern Manhattan from rural countryside to a dynamic multicultural community. Through historic site tours and education programs, the museum interprets the mansion in the context of domestic life in New York City, the influx of European immigrants to Washington Heights, the City Beautiful movement at the turn of the century, the life of the Jumel Terrace Historic District, and more. Morris-Jumel Mansion seeks to serve as a cultural resource for an audience of national and international visitors and, in particular, the diverse audiences of the City of New York.
