A hands on workshop for couples preparing for a liberated and empowered birthing experience. This workshop is guided by The Birth Deck. Join Chicago Birthworks Collective as they host Author, Doula and Birth Educator, Sara Lyon for an in person labor prep intensive. This workshop is ideal for families seeking to learn and master the art of a successful, calm and an empowered labor and childbirthing experience. This workshop is designed by doulas for pregnant people and their support persons to get comfortable with the positions, practices and tricks that make labor powerfully beautiful! You and your partner will be guided through The Birth Deck, a simple powerful childbirth education tool feauturing 50 easy ways to support a woman in labor through massage, hypnosis, affirmations, visualizations, labor positions and other simple tips. Families will receive both a copy of The Birth Deck and You've Got This: Your Guide To Getting Comfortable With Labor, a companion workbook and comprehensive labor guide, along with a curated labor prep bag designed by doulas for prepared parents with variety of helpful items and tools for labor. You will become more confident in your body, yourself and your partner's ability to have a comfortable and amazing birth! We are a tribe of birthworkers committed to improving pregancy and birth outcomes for families and mamas of color in Chicago and across the country. Our collective provides a wide range of services from culturally competent doula support to massage therapy and beauty services all focused on creating the birth our families deserve and desire!
