For National Dance Day & Uptown’s screening of Dirty Dancing, we invite you to make an ensemble of Patrick Swayze lantern puppets and dance! One Patrick Swayze puppet is funny. 50 Patrick Swayze puppets is going to be hilarious! The Krewe of the Grateful Gluttons' giant lantern parade puppets are coming, too!* 5:30-7:30pm Crazy for Swayze Lantern Puppet Workshop with the Krewe of the Grateful Gluttons. The Patrick Swayze Puppet is fun for one, two, or three people to operate. The making of the puppet is best for ages 10 and up, but all ages would enjoy playing with him! Kids must be accompanied by adults at all times. We are going to spread out and sit on the lawn to make them. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and/or chairs for the workshop and movie. The workshop is limited to 25 folks. Patrick Swayze Lantern Puppet Kits will be available all day at the Indie Craft Experience at this location. 
At 7:30pm we will have a quick Lantern Puppet Dance Class and group photo! 
7:45-8:15pm Dance party with all the Patrick Swayzes and the Krewe’s giant lantern parade puppets to the Dirty Dancing soundtrack! 
8:15pm Free screening of Dirty Dancing *The Krewe of the Grateful Glutton’s Lantern Puppets were created for the organization’s Art on the Atlanta BeltLine Project, the Atlanta BeltLine Lantern Parade. The Patrick Swayze Puppets are a Chantelle Rytter Project and a limited edition of 50. Note: Uptown Atlanta is the mixed-use destination surrounding the Lindbergh Center MARTA Station. The Lawn at Uptown is situated in front of Pike Nursery, and accessible via MARTA and walking and bike paths. Parking is also available in the Garson Deck located next to The Lawn and validation will be provided to all event attendees. **The health and wellness of our community is of utmost importance. We encourage all guests to follow the latest COVID-19 guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control while visiting the property. Ticket entry will be contactless and hand sanitizer will be placed throughout all community spaces.
