POSITION SUMMARY B.A.T.S. is seeking a motivated, energetic, fast learning Fleet Mechanic I for Northern California. Duties will include but are not limited to; keeping all company equipment & vehicles available for use by inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing gasoline & diesel engine vehicles; completing preventive maintenance such as, engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, replacing filters. Maintaining vehicle records by recording service and repairs. The Mechanic I work under the supervision of the Fleet Supervisor. POSITION DUTIES Vehicle Maintenance: Standard Maintenance for gasoline & diesel engine driven vehicles: fluid and filter changes, tire replacement and rotation, brake system replacement and checks, vehicle inspections, vehicle diagnostics, electrical system repairs, 40-point safety inspections, emergency response as needed. Design & Fabrication: Designing new projects/equipment or replicating previously built projects/equipment via knowledge of metal working. Preparing, cutting, grinding, welding (steel & aluminum), and precise measuring. Body Repair, Assembly & Paint: Automotive metal working, body filling, paint prep and painting of body panels. Equipment Work Orders: Prioritize, schedule and complete repair orders;vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, gasoline & diesel engine repair, assist Fleet Supervisor/Mgr. as needed. Data Entry/Inventory: Track and monitor parts and tool inventory. Report any discrepancies. Suggest inventory purchases, purchasing as directed. Training: Provide support and guidance to all Service Techs and Lead Service Techs. Other Duties: Other duties as assigned. WHAT YOU NEED TO BE AMAZING AT B.A.T.S (Qualifications) • 2+ years mechanic experience in an automobile repair environment. • 2+ years welding & fabrication experience. • Vehicle body work and paint experience preferred but not required. • Self-motivated, detailed and organized. • Experience keeping parts & tool inventory. • Can lift 50lbs. • Spanish speaking a plus but not required. • Exceptional customer service and communication skills (both written and oral). Must read/write in English. Comfortable speaking with internal customers and has a mindset to work with customers and satisfy their needs (a problem solver). • Must be a self-starter, able to work independently, highly organized, self-motivated and a team player. • Can read vehicle schematics. • SAE Certification preferred. • Must be dependable and trustworthy. • Clean driving record required. • Strong computer skills preferred (email, Microsoft Office software, etc.) • Ability to drive a truck and tow a trailer/equipment. • High School diploma or equivalent.
