We're back with Steve Kraske, live and in-person at Westport Coffee House to discuss guiding students of jazz towards rewarding careers. August has come and gone, and before we jump into our traditional panel discussion, we are excited to share the successes of the 8th annual Spotlight: Charlie Parker with you! Kansas City spent the month celebrating our hometown legend, Charlie Parker and we are proud to have spotlighted more than 35 different events. Following our recap, get ready for "Jazz Goes to College: From Book to Street!" Kansas City has a strong jazz education system with talented students eager to launch their jazz careers post-graduation. In this interactive panel discussion, we will hear from educators as they discuss the opportunities and challenges our budding musicians face as they develop professional jazz careers. Join Steve Kraske, host of Up To Date on Kansas City's KCUR 89.3, as he discusses the transition from student to professional jazz musician with renowned jazz influencers David Aaberg and Mike Parkinson. Please join us IN PERSON for an engaging conversation led by our talented moderator, Steve Kraske with panelists, Dr. David Aaberg and Dr. Mike Parkinson.
