Help support Afghanistan Veterans in their efforts to help people leave the country. Army veteran Rebecca Murga speaks at Revive LA Church. Joint us this Sunday in-person and "Live Stream" as Rebecca shares her compelling experience and how continuing efforts with other veterans are being made to help people out of Afghanistan. An Army veteran, Rebecca Murga was deployed in Iraq, Kuwait and Afghanistan. We gather OUTSIDE in our courtyard of Palisades Lutheran Church. SUPPORT IS NEEDED While she's located in Los Angeles, she's a part of a group of about 50 veterans working out of an operation center in North Carolina seeking URGENT support. This is a 24/7 operation running for the last 12 days with EVERY veteran self-funding their time away from work, rental cars or flights to drive here, etc. Their operations center is running Intel, tracking flights, helping to build the manifest of over 4000 Afghans. A lot of the volunteers are all sleeping inside trucks and the flop house. People are washing clothes in sinks. Below are a few of our needs: - Hotel rooms - up to 10 singles for the week Comfort Inn is 3 miles up the road - Grub Hub Cards - so they can order food from different places throughout the day - Laundry services - these people are washing their clothes in sinks - Rental cars - we have a few right now -- any coverage - Phone charger blocks - they are burning phone batteries like crazy - Care packages with water, gatorade, soda, snacks, hand sanitizer, hand wipes, toilet paper, personal hygiene - They have four Afghan interpreters who have been working 24/7 who have families that has been refused entry to the airport in Kabul. Any thank you cards and gift cards for their families will be appreciated.
