BROOKLINE, MA — Coolidge Corner Theatre in Brookline will require all visitors to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID test beginning Friday, September 3. Guests who plan to visit the theatre will need to bring their vaccination card, a legible photo of their vaccination card, a digital vaccination record, or a negative PCR COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours. A photo ID may be requested alongside any of these documents. "Our staff has been hard at work the past year to adapt to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, to make the theatre safe for the Coolidge community," says the theatre's website. "As the situation evolves, we will continue to adhere to the guidelines and standards set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), local and state health authorities, and to the voluntary CinemaSafe guidelines developed by the National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO)," it continues. Children under age 12 who cannot be vaccinated yet are still welcome to visit Coolidge Corner Theatre if accompanied by a vaccinated adult. The theatre remains at full capacity and all guests are required to wear a face mask except when eating or drinking. Anyone who purchased tickets for a screening on September 3 or later but cannot comply with the new policy can ask for a refund by emailing [email protected]. After this weekend, the theatre will not provide refunds for those who show up without proof of vaccination or negative test result.
