Good Tuesday morning Connecticut, It's the quiet before the storm arrives on Wednesday, and then we'll be dealing with the remnants of Hurricane Ida through Thursday. Several inches of rain are forecast for us, but the good news is that wind shouldn't be a major issue. A flood watch has been issued for southern Connecticut and the National Weather Service said that the remnants of Ida will pass near the region Wednesday night through Thursday. Heavy rain is predicted beginning Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning. The rainfall should begin to taper off Thursday afternoon. A widespread 3-4 inches of rain is forecast. This rainfall may lead to flash flooding, the weather service cautions. A flood watch has also been issued for northern Connecticut, and the weather service states that 2-4 inches of rain is forecast here and that flooding is a concern due to small rivers and streams currently running above normal. A MODERATE risk is in effect in our Day 2 Excessive Rainfall Outlook.
