Press release from the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce - News:
August 31, 2021
The University of Texas at San Antonio has several departments and centers focused on cybersecurity, making them great partners of the Chamber's Cybersecurity Council. Several UTSA offices are seeking mentors from the business community to participate in the Protecting Our Communities Initiative. This is a collaboration between the MITRE corporation and UTSA's Center for Information Assurance and Security whose aim is to mitigate risks of soft targets, such as faith-based and nonprofit organizations, through cybersecurity risk assessments facilitated by UTSA students and mentors from MITRE and local businesses.
Business mentors will join mentors from the MITRE Corporation and pair up with UTSA students enrolled in the Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 semesters. Mentors may spend up to two and a half hours per week through a virtual platform, in either 1-on-1 meetings with students or meetings with the MITRE mentors.
If you are interested in mentoring students and be a part of the Protecting Our Communities Initiative, please contact, Mr. Vic Malloy at [email protected] or Mr. Richard Rodriguez at [email protected].
