OSWEGO, IL — The next Coffee & Conversation event with Mayor Troy Parlier will look a little bit different. In the special edition on Sept. 11, senior Oswego residents can take a tour of the new Venue 1012 and learn about upcoming events. Starting at 9 a.m., guests will meet at the venue, at 1012 Station Drive, to tour the new amphitheater and park along Orchard Road and learn about upcoming events as well as future plans for the venue. Staff will also be around to answer questions about anything else happening in Oswego, officials said in an announcement about the free event Tuesday. The official grand opening ceremony for Venue 1012 took place Aug. 19 after plans for the space were in the works for about two years. The village received the plot of land where the entertainment space now sits as a donation from Kevin Fialko, who owns the adjoining Oswego Junction Shopping Center, in 2019. Vince Neil, Mötley Crüe's frontman, and country duo LOCASH were among the artists who performed. For additional questions or to RSVP for the upcoming tour, those interested can contact Community Engagement Coordinator Julie Hoffman at 630-551-2334 or [email protected] by Sept. 9.
