Description

WEST CHESTER, PA — A police investigation of crack cocaine sales out of a West Chester Borough home led to charges against a 68-year-old man, a 51-year-old man, and a 76-year-old woman all with the same last name. In June 2021 the West Chester Borough Police Department investigated the sale of crack cocaine from a residence on the 300 block of East Miner Street. Police said the investigation produced adequate evidence for a search warrant, and after the home was searched, charges followed against its occupants. Harlan Thomas, 68, of West Chester, was charged on Monday with manufacture and delivery or possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and related charges. Also charged was Florence Thomas, 76, of West Chester, facing the same charges as Harlan Thomas. Ronald Thomas, 51, of West Chester, was also charged with manufacture and delivery or possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and related charges. Police reports did not state if the three were relatives. Police said Florence Thomas turned herself in at District Court 15-1-04 on Aug. 30 and was released on unsecured bail. Harlan Thomas was unable to post the $15,000 bail set, and Ronald Thomas was unable to post his $50,000 cash bail, police reported. A preliminary hearing is scheduled on Sept. 7, court records show. Court records show Harlan Thomas has been convicted and served time in both 2000 and 2004 for the same charges. The West Chester University Police Department assisted the West Chester Borough Police Department during the investigation. Make sure you know what's happening in your town.
