CONCORD, NH — The state of New Hampshire is improving its "text-to-911" system. Texty, an updated platform, was launched in an effort to improve on processes in place since February 2015. The original system, according to state officials, had limitations. As an example, 911 could receive and respond to texts as long as they were received first. If a text session disconnected, a 911 telecommunicator could not text back. Texty also allows for better location services even in low cellular reception areas. The system went online on Tuesday.
