These new homes make up a multi-family apartment community that overlooks Martin Luther King Jr. Park on Manhattan Square Drive and is one of the few all-affordable communities in Center City, making it a critical asset for the City of Rochester. The redevelopment will have 336 fully renovated apartments upon completion, including apartments adapted for Mobility Impaired and Hearing/Visually Impaired individuals. Conifer's Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for indoor and outdoor maintenance at Southeast Towers (336 units) in Rochester, NY. Candidates must be skilled in drywall repair, painting, light plumbing, basic electrical, basic carpentry, and boiler repair; HVAC experience helpful. Position is also responsible for grounds maintenance and snow removal. Must be able to adapt to changing work priorities. Must be self-motivated and enjoy working independently as well as on a team. Strong customer service skills required and experience working with seniors is a plus. Must be available for emergency on-call hours on a rotation basis and snow removal as scheduled. Requirements SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE (required skills): • Minimum 1-2 years prior maintenance skills -- drywall repair, painting, light plumbing, basic electrical, cleaning and general maintenance repair skills; HVAC helpful or will train. • Prior apartment or home repair maintenance skills helpful. • Minimum HS/GED required. • Bilingual Spanish-speaking a plus. • Ability to assist with on-call resident emergencies on a rotation basis with team members and must be able to respond to calls within 30 minutes when scheduled for on-call coverage. • Ability to work occasional Overtime when needed/scheduled. • Must be able to lift a maximum of 100 lbs. on occasion with frequent lifting, carrying up to 50 lbs. • Must have reliable automobile transportation with valid driver’s license and valid auto insurance for getting supplies when needed, assisting at other properties when assigned, on-call emergency requests, etc. • Will be responsible for assisting with snow removal during the winter months.
