BEVERLY HILLS, CA — A plastic surgeon with offices in Beverly Hills and Brea pleaded not guilty to sexually assaulting two of his patients at his arraignment in Fullerton Tuesday, City News Service reported. Frederic Corbin, 77, was accused of sexually assaulting two of his female patients at his medical office in Brea, the Orange County District Attorney's Office said Tuesday. Corbin faces a maximum sentence of five years in a state prison if convicted. He is being charged with one felony count of sexual battery by fraud, one felony count of sexual exploitation by a physician, two misdemeanor counts of sexual battery and two misdemeanor counts of battery, according to the OC District Attorney's Office. Corbin will return to court Sept. 14 for his pretrial hearing, City News Service reported. Deputy District Attorney Tara Meath of the Sexual Assault Unit is prosecuting the case. "Patients entrust their very lives to the doctors who treat them," OC District Attorney Todd Spitzer said in a statement. "No one seeking medical treatment should have to worry about being sexually assaulted while under a doctor's care. These women were in very vulnerable situations and their doctor capitalized on those vulnerabilities for his own sexual gratification." Corbin stands accused of sexually assaulting a female patient last September. The victim said that she was sexually assaulted by Corbin while he prepped her for a surgical procedure. Earlier this year, another victim said that she was sexually assaulted by Corbin when she went to his office in Brea for a post-surgery examination. Both women reported the incidents to the Brea Police Department. According to Corbin's website, he has over 25 years of practice with cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. Anyone with information pertaining to the case was asked to call Detective Ryan Trent of the Brea Police Department at (714)-990-7618. City News Service contributed to this report.
