MICHIGAN—The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services said on Monday that nine schools have reported new COVID-19 outbreaks, including 14 cases coming from Howell High School in Livingston County.
Seven other K-12 schools and Northern Michigan University have also reported new cases among students and administration, the state said.
Among the outbreaks, three cases are from the Tecumseh High School Girls cross country team and an additional two are from the Tecumseh High School freshman football team.
Other outbreaks include Hunt Elementary in Jackson with two, Fulton High School in Middleton with four, Negaunee High School in Negaunee with two, Troy Athens High in Troy with two and Marquette University with six.
This is in addition to ongoing school outbreaks that include the University of Michigan with 86 confirmed cases. Others include Lapeer High School with five and two Kalamazoo schools: KPS Greenwood Kindergarten with four and KPS Parkwood 4th grade with two.
These outbreaks come on the same day the state reported 5,020 new COVID-19 cases and 26 deaths since Saturday.
