You may also deliver a resume by mail to: Mr. Dave Dunkley, WPS Director of Building Facilities, c/o Joyce Middle School, 55 Locust St., Woburn , MA 01801; or hand deliver resume to the "WPS Drop Box" located in the lower parking lot of same address noted above.Position Purpose/Function:Under the direction of the Director of Building Facilities the HVAC/R Technician is responsible for corrective maintenance, new and renovated installations, and preventive maintenance of all building systems. Assist all trades within the Facilities Department toprovide quality and time efficient corrective/preventive maintenance, projects and repairs in an orderly fashion to benefit Woburn Public Schools. Responsibilities & Duties:When emergency situations occur the HVAC/R Technician will need to respond when called upon.Performs corrective action and preventive maintenance regarding all building systems.Troubleshoot heating. ventilation and air conditioning, and refrigeration systems and perform corrective maintenance in a timely fashion.Expertise with electrical circuits, distribution, transformers, fuses, motors, relays, magnetic starters, switches that operate at low and high voltage.Proficient in performing tasks associated with a Direct Digital Control Energy Management System, i.e. setbacks, control, trending, overrides, troubleshooting. scheduling, replacements of parts, etc. Ensures compliance with all applicable safety regulations, building codes and safety requirements.Proficient in the use of Computerized Maintenance management Systems and will be responsible for the record keeping on all filter changes and equipment maintenance.Assists in the development of the building preventive maintenance plan and the ongoing updating and implementation of planned preventive maintenance.  Assists the Director of Building Facilities regarding reviews of construction documents for both new construction and renovation projects. Performs brazing, soldering, pipefitting, welding, fabrication of equipment and parts as neededIdentifies and corrects health and safety issues in a time efficient manner.  Other duties and responsibilities as assigned (i.e. grounds, snow removal.) Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:H.S. diploma or equivalentFive (5) years of experience in the heating, ventilation & air conditioning, refrigeration trade.Possess a Valid State Drivers License required.Possess a Valid Journeyman’s Massachuset1s Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning License. Masters License preferred. Preference will be giving to a candidate possessing a Massachusetts Journeyman's Electrical /Journeyman's or Plumber's license.Knowledge and ability to demonstrate techniques of using maintenance tools, repairing machinery and providing preventive maintenance. Additionally: Ability to work effectively in a busy environment; good oral and written communications skills. Compensation & Benefits:(As per the bargaining agreement)
