Join us on Sept. 1 at 8:00 pm at Amvets Post 115 for a candlelight vigil in honor of the 13 members of our armed forces who were killed in Kabul. We will have approximately 30 chairs set up. Please, bring a chair should we run out of chairs and you would like to set down. Also, please bring a candle to light. The plan right now is to have the post chaplain render an opening prayer, followed by the reading of the names and sound of a bell for each military member, taps and the national anthem will also be played then we will light the candles, have a moment of silence and end the night with a closing prayer. After the services are complete, you are welcome to hang around and chat with whoever you may want to. I will be there to open the gates at 7 and close the gates when the last person has departed. We ask that you drive through the gate where we will have someone to guide you into a parking spot in the open area behind the flag poles. Please share this with everyone you know! Let's honor our fallen the only way we can!
