Facilities Maintenance Specialist Full Time STATEN ISLAND, NY Full Benefits Generous Paid Time Off Qualifications o High School diploma or GED o Valid driver’s license with good driving history o Minimum of 5 years prior experience in maintenance/ construction field o Ability to perform hard physical labor both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions o Basic electrical, plumbing, drywall skills o Holds FDNY Certificate of Fitness F-07 (Fire Drill Conductor) and S-95 (Supervision of Fire Alarm and Other Related Systems) o Availability to work overtime both before and after regular business hours. There will be required overtime at the discretion of the Facilities Director o Good interpersonal skills Summary • The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the agency sites. This includes following scheduled maintenance plans and completing unforeseen repairs. • The Facilities Maintenance Specialist will provide the snow/ ice removal function for all sites to ensure the safe operation of the programs and will be required to work overtime both before and after his/ her scheduled hours during snow/ ice events. • The Facilities Maintenance Specialist serves as primary contact for the agency’s alarm notifications. He/ She also serves as the contact person for outside vendors working at the agency sites. • The Facilities Maintenance Specialist will conduct fire/ emergency drills at all agency locations and also serve as supervisor of fire alarm systems at NYC locations with fire alarm systems Detailed task description 1. Maintains site grounds 2. Performs light cleaning, garbage removal 3. Performs light plumbing repair/ installation 4. Performs minor repairs to furniture, cabinets, equipment, etc. 5. Performs minor electrical repairs/ installation 6. Repairs drywall, doors, locks 7. Paints interior walls 8. Stores and distributes household supplies 9. Serves as contact for alarm notification 10. Assists in maintenance/ repair of fleet vehicles
