4 key topic areas: Safety around heavy equipment; Equipment design; Equipment checks; Operations Class Outline: 4 key topic areas: Safety around heavy equipment:  Includes common hazards contributing to workplace injuries.  Equipment design:  An overview of the Backhoe's features and capabilities.   Equipment checks:   Review of pre-checks, during operation checks and post-checks.   Operations:   How to safely operate the equipment in the workplace. Schedule:  Thursday  9/16/21  8:00 am - 4:00 pm Friday 9/17/21  8:00 am - 4:00 pm One half hour allotted for lunchbreak. Please bring your lunch each day. Locality to provide 1 piece of equipment for every 3attendees. Class Size: 15 Cost: $95 Trainer: Denis Confer HRPWA is a not-for-profit regional coalition promoting cooperative training in the various disciplines comprising Public Works in Southeastern Virginia.  HRPWA has three primary objectives: To coordinate lower-cost training for current Public Works and Utility employees To educate area high school students with the goal of participants becoming future pre-trained Public Works and Utility employees To provide networking opportunities for member organizations
