Come experience DowntownDC On Wheels a pop up outdoor roller skating rink in the heart of DC with DJs, silent outdoor movies, food and more. Lace up your skates and show off your moves at DowntownDC’s roller skating event. Join us on F Street between 8th and 9th this September 17-19 for free skating and performances, movie screenings with silent disco headphones, food offerings by Shake Shack and live DJs. Sign up early! If you don’t arrive within 15 mins of your scheduled registration your spot will be released. Skates provided on a limited basis. Bringing your own skates is encouraged. Schedule, Live Music and Entertainment: Friday, Sept 17 -Skate: 4pm to 11pm -Skatetrack by DJ Adrian Loving : 7pm – 11pm -Movie: Rollbounce at 8pm Saturday, Sept 18 -Skate: 12N - 11pm -Skate lessons & performances by Rolloway Productions: 3pm – 5pm -Skatetrack by DJ 2-Tone Jones : 7pm – 11pm -Movie: ATL at 8pm Sunday, Sept 19 -Skate: 12N - 6pm -Skate lessons & performances by Rolloway Productions: 12pm – 2pm -Skatetrack by DJ Adrian Loving : 12N – 6pm Roller skating rules 1. Don't bring hockey sticks or pucks onto the roller floor 2. Don't skate backward; 3. Don't figure skate; 4. No more than two skaters should join hands and skate, Chain skating is not permitted; 5. No cell phones or personal music devices are allowed; 6. Skate in the direction of other skaters; 7. Obey the skate guard; 8. Don't play tag; 9. Everyone on the roller floor must wear skates. The DowntownDC Business Improvement District (BID) was founded in 1997 and is a private non-profit organization that provides capital improvements, resources and research that keep the BID area clean, safe, economically and environmentally strong and accessible. The DowntownDC BID is a catalyst, facilitator and thought leader in diversifying the economy, promoting public/private partnerships and enhancing the DowntownDC experience for all. This special district, where property owners have agreed to tax themselves to fund services, encompasses a 138-block area of approximately 520 properties from Massachusetts Avenue on the north to Constitution Avenue on the south, and from Louisiana Avenue on the east to 16th Street on the west.
