MB Direct provides MB customers with a convenient, professional bicycle repair experience that brings the expertise that our shops are known for right to the customer’s door. We ‘meet the customer where they are’, and bring a fully equipped mobile van with a repair stand and the parts and accessories to meet most basic repair jobs. Successful candidates will have a winning combination of superior customer service skills and bicycle repair skills. You will need to project the self confidence of an industry expert when discussing repairs, and also have a broad knowledge of our products so you can guide the customer in enhancing their experience by upgrading their ride. You are a Mike’s Bikes brand advocate and ambassador, the sole representative of our Core Values to that customer, for that interaction. You will need to come up with solutions on the fly and resolve issues before they become serious issues. You will be supported and directed by the MB Direct Manager, as well as the rest of the team in our shops. Duties: Execute successful repairs independently or seek support from the MB Direct Manager as required. Understand customer’s desires and goals in cycling, show them products and demonstrate the features that will benefit them. Match the customer with the right bike or accessory and have the expertise to close the sale. Complete daily tasks as assigned within prescribed timelines while communicating any exceptions to the MB Direct Manager. Keep abreast of technical aspects of bicycle repair by completing assigned Myagi training modules by the deadlines. Maintain tools, bench area and van on a daily basis according to MB Direct standards. Respond to customer queries while working on bikes. Communicate with customers via ZipWhip regarding any changes to their original quote or expected completion timeline. Become familiar with Mike’s Bikes’ safety program as it applies to your job. Wear safety equipment as required when using the grinder, heat gun, propane torch, air compressor, drills etc. Learn and follow safety procedures when utilizing degreasers, lubricants and ArmaKleen Parts Cleaner. Requirements: Valid California driver’s license and clean DMV record. Good communication and problem-solving skills. Excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to lift 30 lbs overhead and 50 lbs to shoulder height. Ability to stand at a bike repair stand for an entire 8-hour work shift. Ability to use hand tools with repetitive motions, including twisting, pushing and pulling. Must be able to work weekends as part of a regular schedule. Previous bicycle repair experience required. Flexibility in scheduling; able to work evenings and weekends. Ability to succeed in a goal-oriented, disciplined environment.
