Is anyone good at web sleuthing?

I'm not at all savvy when it comes to the internet. I have a link that is an older link and it appears to be no longer active, but I have heard of incidents where some people have been able to find thing's that we're thought to be lost or removed from the internet, so I'm looking for someone that considers themself to be a bit of a web sleuth. I'm not trying to find anything illegal or overly inappropriate. So if you like the challenge of a hunt, I can provide you with some additional information in the hopes that you can find a working version of the link for me somewhere online. Thanks.
