WILMINGTON, MA — Want a career in law enforcement? Hurry! Aug. 31 marks the deadline to register for the Wilmington Police Explorers, a program run by the Wilmington Police Department providing training and community engagement to young people interested in careers in law enforcement. The year-long program is open to anyone between 14 and 20 in good academic standing. The program, taught by Wilmington officers, provides police training, fitness programs, and community service opportunities. Explorers will work with community organizations, schools, and town departments and participate in local events. Explorers are expected to keep up their grades, attend all meetings, and maintain a clean personal record during their tenure, according to a posting from the Wilmington Police Department. Apply here by Aug. 31 if interested. The $15 fee is no longer required. The WCTV Youth Program is also accepting applications for its Saturday morning and Wednesday after-school slots. The Wednesday and Saturday programs are each accepting eight participants aged nine and older, and will teach scriptwriting, camera skills, acting, editing, and more. Saturdays run from 9 a.m to 12 p.m., cost $150, and will run for six weeks in five different sessions. Wednesdays cost $100, and run from 2 to 4 p.m. Visit here to apply or email [email protected].
