Malicious Wounding Charge Filed In Elden Street Stabbing: Police

HERNDON, VA — Town of Herndon Police charged Dennis Cruz Antunez, 41, of Herndon Monday in connection with Thursday's stabbing incident on Elden Street, according to a post on the department's official Twitter account. Officers responded around 9:26 a.m., for the the report of a stabling in the 1000 block of Elden Street. The male victim was involved in a verbal altercation, which ended with him being stabbed, according to police. The victim was taken to Reston Hospital to be treated for his wounds. The suspect fled the scene. HPD searched the area with the assistance of Fairfax County Police helicopter FFX1. Schools in the vicinity of the search were put on temporary lockdown Thursday while the search was underway. Following Antunez's arrest, police transported him to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where he is being held without bond.
