TOMS RIVER, NJ — The Ocean County Health Department is offering booster shots of the COVID-19 vaccines for those who are immunocompromised. In addition, the general public will be able to receive an additional dose of vaccine beginning Sept. 20. The health department has vaccination clinics on the following dates and times: Tuesday: Ocean County College drive-thru clinic, 1 College Dr., Lot 3, Toms River, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.Tuesday: Jackson Liberty High School, 125 N. Hope Chapel Road, Jackson, 2 p.m.-6 p.m.Wednesday: Southern Regional High School, Route 9 Parking Lot Entrance, Health Department mobile unit, 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Thursday: OceanCounty Connection, Ocean County Mall, 1201 Hooper Ave., Toms River. Time TBDSept. 7: Six Flags Great Adventure, 1 Six Flags Blvd., Jackson, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.Sept. 11: Celebration of Hope Walk, Seaside Heights Boardwalk, Seaside Heights, 7 a.m.-noonSept. 17: Six Flags Great Adventure, 1 Six Flags Blvd., Jackson, 5 p.m.-8 p.m.Sept. 18: Barnegat Recreation Center, 900 W. Bay Ave., Barnegat, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.Sept. 23: Atlantic Heights Apartments, 900 Barnegat Blvd. N., Barnegat, 3 p.m.-6 p.m.Sept. 25: Lacey Day at Gille Park, Manchester Avenue, noon-3 p.m.Immunocompromised people need to make appointments through the health department's website. You need to bring documentation showing proof of vaccination to your appointment. Immunocompromised individuals must wait at least 28 days from receiving their second dose. For the general public, booster shots of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines will be available beginning Sept. 20. You must wait at least 8 months after having received your second dose.
