1908 Houston Street will be paved with asphalt, it was announced today, after a citizen's committee let it be known they favor this material over the more expensive vitrified brick pavement. The job will cost $71,175.
1936 Three hundred and twelve aluminum gadgets placed at strategic intervals along the street of downtown San Antonio, were set in motion on this date. Yes! That's right….parking meters.
1986 Blockbuster Video announces its first San Antonio location at 9885 IH-10 West in the Colonnade. They will acquire the Sound Warehouse and Music Plus retail chains in 1992, but declare bankruptcy on Sept. 23, 2010.
