'Treats On The Streets' With Princeton Police On Sept. 1

PRINCETON, NJ — The Princeton Police Department will be hosting its first-ever 'Treats On The Streets," On Sept. 1. Police SUVs will be packed with ice cream, ice pops, and other cold treats. Officers will be cruising the streets so children can wave out. They will then stop for a quick chat with the kids and let them choose their favorite treat. Officers will be at Community Park North and the Witherspoon area neighborhood. Feel free to wave at officers or stop them for a chat, even if you don't want ice cream. "We are really looking forward to this and we are hoping it will be a hot day so it'll be that much more satisfying for everyone," the department said on Facebook. The event will be held weather permitting, and a make-up date will be chosen closer to Sept. 1.
