NEWARK, NJ — Essex County authorities have launched an investigation after an 8-year-old boy was fatally shot in Newark on Sunday night. The shooting took place around 10 p.m. on the 100-block of Schuyler Avenue, but it's not yet known what caused it or who was involved. No other injuries were reported, the Associated Press reported Monday.
