Bel Air Police Participate In 9/11 Memorial Motorcycle Ride

BEL AIR, MD — Police from Bel Air were among the more than 500 people participating in the 9/11 motorcycle ride commemorating the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks. The ride lasted from Aug. 20 to 22 and was sponsored by America's 911 Foundation, which has held it every year since the attacks. Money raised goes to first responders and their families. Officials said the ride stopped at Maryland House on Saturday, Aug. 21. "Our motor officers have been honored to again make the nearly 1,000-mile escort," the Bel Air Police Department reported. "We haven't, and never will forget. Thank you!" Attendees every year since 9/11 have ridden to the sites where some of the almost 3,000 people who lost their lives in the attacks. The motorcycle ride included stops at Shanksville, Pa., where United Airlines Flight 93 went down; the Pentagon, where American Airlines Flight 77 hit the building; and the World Trade Center in New York.
