AUSTIN, TEXAS — The search for two swimmers who went missing on Saturday at Lake Travis is continuing as a rescue attempt two days after the males disappeared, local law enforcement officials said Monday. The Travis County Sheriff's Department is using a variety of search methods to try to locate the two swimmers, including aerial searches, shoreline searches and sonar to try to locate the two males, a department spokesperson said. The swimmers disappeared Saturday afternoon near Hurst Creek and the area where the search is taking place is about 120 feet deep, the spokesperson said. No information about the missing swimmers has been provided. The Austin-Travis County EMS indicated on social media that their search had become an attempt to recover the two swimmers after an extensive search of the area turned up nothing after the report of the swimmers was made. Lake Patrol units had been involved in the initial search after officers and rescue workers were called to the lake around 5:45 p.m. on Saturday.
