MONROVIA, CA — Authorities have identified the pedestrian that was struck and killed by a Los Angeles Metro train in Monrovia Friday as a Duarte resident. Fabian Cano, 20, was hit by a Los Angeles-bound train for the L Line, formerly the Gold Line, near California Avenue and Duarte Road around 4:25 a.m. Friday. He was pronounced dead at the scene, Metro said. The collision brought a temporary halt to train service between the Duarte and Arcadia stations while investigators looked into Cano's death. Cano's death remains under investigation, authorities said. City News Service contributed to this report.
