LAKE GROVE, NY — The Disney Store in the Smith Haven Mall of Lake Grove is set to close by mid-September, according to the company. The shop, at 313 Smith Haven Mall Road, Lake Grove, is targeted to close on or before Sept. 15, according to the Disney website. Sweeping nationwide closures of brick-and-mortar Disney Stores come as Target plans to open more than 100 new Disney shops in its locations, USA Today reported. Disney, in March, said its focus on e-commerce is the reason for the physical store closures. Stephanie Young, president of consumer products, games and publishing for Disney, told USA Today in March the company has "been focused on meeting consumers where they are already spending their time, such as the expansion of Disney store shop-in-shops around the world."
