Word of the suspension was first reported by Cecil Hurt of the Tuscaloosa News, which came after Patch reported on Sunday that Robinson, 20, was the driver of a Jeep involved in the crash, which occurred at approximately 11:18 p.m. Sunday at Hargrove Road and Prince Avenue.
An eyewitness said three cars were involved, two of which sustained major damage. Fortunately, there were no injuries in the crash.
Robinson was charged with misdemeanor DUI and booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail Sunday morning with his bond set at $1,000. He has since been released.
A sophomore from Birmingham, where he starred at Jackson-Olin High School, Robinson did not see playing time for the Crimson Tide during his sophomore season.
Alabama is set to open its season next Saturday in Atlanta against Miami.
