SEW BROMO is a Fashion Trade School located in the heart of Baltimore, Maryland. If you’ve ever looked at a pattern and wondered what it all means and how to use it to make a garment, then this course is for you! We’ll take the mystery out of pattern language and help you use commercial patterns like a pro. We’ll go through each step of reading and cutting a pattern, including: · Notches · Graded nests · Markers · Seam allowance · Grainlines · Marking · Cutting · Basic pattern adjustments · Reading a size chart Students will also be introduced to industrial patterns and how they are used in a production environment, and how commercial patterns compare. Students see demonstrations for laying up fabric, cutting and marking for elements such as notches, darts, gathers, pocket placement, etc. This course takes place on September 16, 2021 from 6-9 pm.
