MAINTENANCE / HANDYMAN for Apartments Work experience in Apartment Maintenance; plumbing, electrical, flooring, drywall repair, appliance repair, carpentry, and general repair work. Has the ability to be on-call, and has basic cell phone skills (email and internet). Is a self-motivated, customer service-oriented individual with exceptional attention to detail, and is someone who takes great pride in the quality of their work and is passionate about providing exemplary customer service! Maintenance technicians are responsible for all aspects of property maintenance including curb appeal, service requests, apartment turnovers, preventative maintenance, and relations with associates, contractors. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS for consideration: a valid driver's license, understand of the English language, and the ability to pass a full background check.) *You must have your own TRUCK or CAR, a valid CA driver's license, and verifiable auto insurance. *You must have your own work tools and equipment. *You must be knowledgeable in basic home repairs including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work. *Must be able to accurately assess repairs needed including basic unit and building repairs. *Ability to follow directions and able to communicate professionally with tenants and co-workers. Required experience in the following trades: Plumbing: repair, replace, or install faucets, pipes, hot water tanks, toilets. Electrical: repair, replace wall sockets, ceiling lights, ceiling fans, or driveway gate openers. Drywall repair: fill holes caused by nails, minor dings from normal wear and tear most commonly performed between the time a tenant vacates a unit and a new renter assumes occupancy or larger holes caused by damage Painting: minor touch-ups following damage repair to new coats of paint applied to unit walls in between residents Appliance repair: repair, replace or install household appliances, such as refrigerators, range ovens, hot water tanks. Preventative maintenance: perform maintenance to; plumbing fixtures, smoke detector, and fire extinguishers Health and safety maintenance is a must. Install locks. *Ability to speak English to communicate with tenants and anyone you come into contact with. *Must be reliable with a strong work ethic. *Must be able to use basic technology such as email, Smartphone/tablet. *All new hires must successfully pass a criminal background check.
