Description
PCSI is seeking Hospital Housekeeping professionals to join our team. This role will be responsible for delivering the highest quality service for our customers and hospital patients. We are looking for ambitious, compassionate team members with a desire to support our mission and values in their daily work. Housekeepers who take pride in their work and are team players. The ideal candidates will have some experience working with a diverse workgroup, such as veterans and people with disabilities. Primary Duties: Clean and supply patient rooms, wards, nursing stations, lounges, lavatories, bathrooms, offices, and any other areas as assigned. Maintain a high level of productivity while working safely. Perform specific cleaning tasks, including dusting horizontal surfaces; emptying waste baskets and removing trash; damp-wiping furniture; cleaning and polishing metal and porcelain bathroom fixtures; dry mopping and sanitizing floors of rooms and offices; spot-cleaning walls and windows; replenishing room supplies; making beds and sorting and distributing linen. Use industry tools such as light mops, small ringer, dusters, household-type vacuum cleaners and other tools, chemicals and supplies necessary to perform job duties. Maintain assigned equipment for cleanliness and report needed repairs to equipment, furniture, building and fixtures. In case of fire or other emergency, assist in escorting ambulatory patients to exits. Daily job responsibilities/functions to include, but not limited to: Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping of flooring and stairs. Clean and sanitize bathrooms. Clean sinks, countertops, microwaves, and refrigerators in break rooms. Restock supplies in bathrooms break rooms and common areas. Empty all trash cans and replace liners, clean receptacles as necessary. Dusting and cleaning office desks and furniture that are not cluttered. Cleaning windowsills and windows. Maintain janitor closets in a clean, organized and safe manner. Maintain janitorial equipment in a clean, safe and operable condition. Proper labeling, dilution and use of all chemicals. Wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment at all times. Other routine duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Good communication and interpersonal skills. Good client/customer service skills. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Ability to work effectively with a team. Ability to work independently as needed to support the group effort. Basic knowledge of cleaning products or willing to learn. QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED Six months or more recent related janitorial experience. Valid Drivers License required. Must be able to successfully pass Government security clearances. WORKING ENVIRONMENT: The work is performed in a variety of buildings located at Schriever Air Force Base with a wide variety of people with differing functions, personalities and abilities. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work requires routine walking, standing, bending and carrying items up to 60 pounds. Moving items over 60 pounds utilizes a team lift.
