Indoor Male cat approximately 8 yrs old. Front paws declawed and spaded. I was doing a family member a favor thru his divorce and holding his cat for him while he found an apartment or home. We've had Charlie the male cat for a year now and my brother's divorce is over and he bought a house and both him and his ex-wife will not take back the cat. Yes I know, family is a trip. I don't want the cat and hate to take him to the pound to be disposed of. My brother even purchased an expensive dog and refuses to take the cat back and told me to just take him to the pound. Charlie was trained by my brother and his wife to use some weird liter box that uses crystals and pee pads, that he gave to us. He uses it maybe 30% of the time. We also set up a regular liter box w/ cat liter and he will not use it. When we have the back door open, he loves to sit on the porch and he will always use the bathroom out in the grass with no issues. Other issue with Charlie is that you can only put down a couple of caps of food in the morning at 7'ish am and again at 5'ish pm. He's not like our little dog that we can leave a huge bowl of food down and she'll only eat a little and not be a glut. Since we inherited Charlie, we are no longer able to put down our dog's food unless we pick it up when she's done or Charlie will eat all of the dog's food. Charlie is great with other animals and kids and has NEVER shown any aggression. I don't want to do this, but if someone doesn't want him by this Wednesday, I will be taking him to the pound.
