Full day workshop Urgent Care skills needed for Nurse Practitioners - musculoskeletal: shoulder, knee, ankle, Wound care: suturing, abscess Nurse Practitioners  and PA's are increasingly taking larger roles in meeting the primary care needs of our nation!   Do we have the musculoskeletal and minor procedure skill base to practice to the fullest extent of our education and credentialing?   Attendance at this ALL DAY LIVE IN-PERSON workshop (9:00 am-6:00 pm) is URGENT for NP students, PA students, and any primary care professional seeking to learn or refresh these skills: $299.50 for workshop attendance Social Distancing (seating at 6 foot tables, masks except for eating/drinking)  AM session  9:00-12:30 Expert exam of knee Expert exam of ankle and foot Expert Exam of shoulder Discussion of management of neck and back pain Concepts of splinting with use of decision charts and hands on practice with materials Musculoskeletal assessment and critical thinking for problem solving and deciding what next steps to take. 9:00 am to 12:30 3 hour workshop that includes all musculoskeletal evaluations, with emphasis in expert exam and problem solving of common ankle, knee and shoulder issues, and hands on work with splinting NETWORKING LUNCH included in WORKSHOP FEE  12:30 -1:30 pm - (Outdoor eating socially distanced with individually boxed lunches) PM session  1:30 pm - 6:00 pm Local anesthesia and digital blocks Incision and drainage of abscesses Foreign body removal (e.g. fishhooks, splinters nasal foreign bodies) Finger and toe procedures (e.g. paronychia, trephination) Minor laceration care - adhesives, staple, sutures INCLUDES take-home suture instruments for home practice Corneal abrasions and fluorescein examination Dix Hallpike and Epley maneuvers Reduction of Nursemaid elbow 1:30 pm -6:00 pm workshop 10 .25 CEUs for attendance (includes 1.0 pharmacology) IMPACT is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the Ohio Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
