#RiseUpCleanUp Herselle Milliken Park, the Libertarian Party of Northern Virginia's sponsored park, on 19 September from 4-6 PM. BYO Gloves! Join fellow Libertarians as we clean up our adopted park and improve our communities around Arlington and the rest of Northern Virginia. There are a large number of improvements we will be taking on for this park, including adding composted leaf mulch to trees and lawn areas, Painting the back of the park sign, Removing dead bushes on the border, planting new screening bushes in same area, removing cedar tree in between the two big trees towards the front of the park, and adding top soil. LOCATION: Herselle Milliken Park, located at 820 N Lincoln St, Arlington, VA 22201. It's just a 4 minute walk from the Virginia Square-GMU metro station (Orange and Silver line). If you're driving, there is some street parking around the residential neighborhood, but be careful of parking permits. Parking is free on the weekends when we have the events. EQUIPMENT: We'll have garbage bags, shovels, and other tools, but you can bring your own if you're more comfortable with them. You must bring a pair of garden or work gloves (the cheap kind for $2-3 at grocery or convenience stores is fine). You should also bring water (one or two pints should be plenty), bug spray, and sunscreen. Less government, more freedom. Supporting financially responsible, socially tolerant candidates across Alexandria, Arlington, Falls Church, Fairfax, and Loudoun.
