Description

Two pinball tournaments (starting at 1 & ~3:30 PM) featuring vintage 1960s and 70s pinball machines The Vector Committee (pinball) at the Dallas Makerspace (in Carrollton, Texas) will be hosting an "EM Mania" Tournament at the DFW Pinball League Summer Finals. NOTE: While the address IS public, building access requires a badge. Please ring the doorbell. The Vector Committee, amongst other things, is dedicated to the restoration of classic pinball machines - see more detail about the Makerspace at the bottom of this description. Everyone is welcome, even if you haven't played with us before. TWO EVENTS going on. The cost is $10 per person to play. The first $5 pays the IFPA fees and helps with event host/league costs. The additional $5 will go to help fund the Vector Committee at the Dallas Makerspace. (EVENT 2 BELOW IS OPEN TO ANYONE/THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY) Event 1 ----- DFW PINBALL LEAGUE SUMMER FINALS - The finals is generally 16 people that played in the league. This can vary as needed. Doors open at 12:30 PM. Finals start promptly (as close to 1 PM as possible) so: Event 2 ---- IFPA TOURNAMENT - The league finals start at 1 - THIS tournament starts immediately AFTER the league finals. We estimate that will be around 3:30 PM. Group Match Play format. Finals TBD -- but we usually do (1) Group Elimination, (2) 2 Strikes, or (3) Best of 3 Brackets. If you need to leave early, that's fine too (just play in half of the qualifying to count - usually about 2 hours). Late entrants are welcomed until sometime around 5:30 PM (halfway through qualifying). THERE WILL BE PLAYOFFS FOR BOTH A AND B DIVISIONS SO ALL SKILL LEVELS CAN PLAY AND WIN! "A" finals affects standings. Per IFPA rule, "B" does not - its for fun... That said, we have PRIZES: Gift Cards for both divisions from TITAN PINBALL and other places (example: Starbucks and Chik-Fil-A) With B Division prizes, ANYONE can win!! As always, All skill levels welcome!! The Dallas Makerspace is a great place where folks skilled in many different areas come to use big expensive equipment that most folks would not be able to afford or have room for on their own. It's a DIYers paradise with everything from 3D printing to automotive, digital media to cosplay, oh, and space to work on specifically pinball and arcade machines. http://dfw-pinball-league.webnode.com/
