A foodie experience appropriate for the world's richest continent featuring a different region of Africa every week What is Afro-fusion? We've recreated these African delicacies well-known in their regions, using authentic spices and preparation methods, and adding or removing certain elements to make them appropriate for an American pallet. In this foodie experience we've combined dishes and spices from the same region of Africa to create an authentic meal. In addition to preparing and serving the dishes, we'll be discussing the ingredients and customs around gathering with food and friends, sourcing the spices, and celebrating in style as Africans so famously do. Guests will be offered a 3 course meal including a light appetizer, a swallow or starch paired with the appropriate dish, a main course with either jackfruit, chicken, salmon, or shrimp, a side, and a dessert. This week we're serving shiro with injera and a side salad, gomen, and our variation on the popular Berbere spice with a sweet sauce made only at Halisi. We'll conclude the experience with African pancakes and Ethiopian honey as well as choice of an Abyssinian coffee or tea. Come anytime between 11 and 3pm. You may also pay in person.
