Description

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — Four young New Brunswick residents, all 20-year-old men, had their home broken into at gunpoint Friday night, according to New Brunswick Police. At 11:40 p.m. Friday, the victims said they were inside their home on Hartwell Street, between Central Avenue and Hamilton Street, when five perpetrators broke into the home through an unsecured door. Once inside, the perpetrators displayed two guns and removed several items of value from the four young men. The victims were not physically injured and the suspects fled the area on foot. A preliminary investigation suggests that at least one of the victims and one of the suspects were familiar with each other and the residence was targeted specifically because of the relationship.
